Winni Recorder -My Winni recording bot isn't joining calls
Why this happens and how to fix it in 60 seconds
Winni joins your sales calls automatically by reading your calendar. If your calendar becomes disconnected, Winni loses visibility of upcoming meetings, which means the bot won't join, calls won't be recorded, and no MEDDPICC data will be captured.
How do I know if my calendar is disconnected?
You may notice:
- Winni's bot stopped joining calls you expected it to attend
- A recent deal is missing a call recording or MEDDPICC summary in your pipeline
- You received an email from Winni saying your calendar needs reconnecting
Why does my calendar disconnect?
This usually happens when:
- You changed your Google or Microsoft account password
- You revoked app permissions in your Google or Microsoft account settings
- Your organisation's IT team rotated credentials or applied a new security policy
- You haven't used Winni for an extended period and the connection expired
It isn't something you've done wrong, OAuth tokens (the secure handshake between Winni and your calendar) have a limited lifespan and occasionally need refreshing.
How to reconnect
- Go to Winni Recorder
- Click Connect Your Calendar
- Follow the Google or Microsoft authorisation flow
- Once reconnected, Winni will resume joining upcoming meetings automatically
⏱ The fix takes under a minute. Any meetings already on your calendar going forward will be picked up automatically once reconnected.
Will I lose any recordings from when it was disconnected?
Unfortunately calls that took place while the calendar was disconnected cannot be recovered, Winni's bot needs to be present on the call to capture the conversation and extract MEDDPICC data. Reconnecting restores coverage going forward.
I've reconnected but the bot still isn't joining
Check the following:
- The meeting has a video conferencing link (Zoom, Google Meet, or Teams, Winni can only join meetings with a supported link
- The meeting was created after you reconnected, meetings already in your calendar before reconnection may need to be refreshed
Make sure Winni is admitted into the meeting
Even when your calendar is connected, Winni's bot joins your meeting as a participant called "Meeting Notetaker" and may be placed in the waiting room by the meeting host.
If Winni isn't admitted, it cannot record the call or capture any MEDDPICC data.
What to do:
- When you see Winni in the waiting room, admit it as you would any other participant
- If you're not the host, ask the host to admit Winni before the call starts
- Check your Zoom/Google Meet/Teams settings, if your meetings automatically admit known participants, you can add Winni to avoid this step each time
💡 A quick way to check: if you expected a recording but nothing appeared in mOS after the call, check whether Winni was ever admitted into the meeting.
