MEDMEN: Five Things Not To Do With The Economic Buyer
- Never assume and never go in cold. Assuming who the Economic Buyer is or what they care about, without triangulating through your Champion, is how you lose credibility before the conversation even starts. Every engagement needs a qualified, research-backed point of view behind it.
- Don't lead with technical Decision Criteria. Economic Buyers delegate technical evaluation to their teams. They care about economic Decision Criteria: ROI, business case, strategic fit. Leading with anything else loses their attention immediately.
- Don't blindly challenge without the credibility to back it up. A strong point of view only lands when you've earned the right to hold it. Without preparation, Champion-built insight, and a grounding in what the EB's organization has actually said, challenging the status quo just looks like a pitch that missed the mark.
